Goal Commitments – How Strong Are Yours?
Almost everyone on earth has goals of achieving something in their life. However, only those who are truly committed to their goals ever see success. So the real question is, just how committed are you to yours?
Do You Find Yourself Making Excuses?
When people ask you about how the journey to your goal is going, how do you answer them? Do you make excuses? Lie about progress which hasn’t been made?
People who are truly committed to their goals don’t make excuses as to why they aren’t achieving them because they are out there reaching them.
Next time you mean to do something, actually do it. Don’t let yourself make an excuse!
You’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish when you just put your mind to it.
Are You Willing To Make A Sacrifice?
Although the word ‘sacrifice’ is quite strong, only those who have a strong commitment to their goals will be able to forego other parts of their life in order to make their dream a reality.
For example, if you are saving up money to quit your job and travel the world, perhaps it’s time to skip nights out with your friends on a weekly basis. That way you’ll be able to save money much quicker, and your goal will be within reach.
Even though not going out with your friends isn’t a large sacrifice, it will make a difference as you work towards your goal and will help you stay fully committed to it.
How Do You Deal With Setbacks?
As you work towards achieving your life goals, there are bound to be setbacks. Some minor, and some possibly major. It’s how you approach and solve these issues which will show how truly committed you are to your goals.
So next time you are faced with a setback, don’t back down, and certainly don’t let it get you down. Rather, face the problem head on and meet it with determination.
You’ll likely be surprised how much easier these set backs are to solve when you approach them in this manner.
Do Your Goals Give You Purpose?
When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it how you are going to achieve your goal for the day? Or is it certain activities which are part of achieving your long-term goal?
If not, you’re likely not very committed to your goals.
Working towards a goal which gives you a purpose to get out of bed every day is something which truly demonstrates your commitment to said goal.
Every action you do within the day should be done with purpose, as you know it will eventually lead you to where you want to go.
Do You Let People Talk You Out Of Your Goals?
This is perhaps the most important factor when judging your commitment to a goal. When you want to achieve something, and you are committed to achieving it, no one should be able to tell you otherwise.
In the same way, no one should get in your way. After all, it is your goal, your dream, and you shouldn’t let others influence your choices.
Overall, if you are truly committed to your goals you shouldn’t be making excuses as to why you aren’t working towards them. Nor should you be going through your life without purpose.
Someone who is truly committed to their goals is willing to make sacrifices, deal with issues with determination, and most of all, they won’t let anyone tell them to back down.
So, if you want to see these goals become a reality it’s time to commit if you haven’t already, or perhaps strengthen your commitment if you feel it’s become weak. If you do, you’ll be achieving your goals and dreams in no time at all.
